Privacy Policy, any and all subdomains of and any other derivative website (collectively, the “Sites”) on which this Privacy Policy is posted are referred to herein collectively as “TAMRITZ,” “we” or “us.”  We are committed to ensuring the privacy and security of our users’ personal information.  This Privacy Policy explains how we will collect personal information through the Sites, the use of information collected by us, how we protect such information, and the choices you have concerning our use of such information.  We are committed to protecting the privacy of children online, and comply with all applicable laws.

This Privacy Policy applies only to information collected by Tamritz through the Sites.  We are not responsible for the privacy of any other information you or your children or students reveal or post in any public forums or for the privacy practices of any websites that are operated or owned by third parties.

By using the Sites or any feature, tools or resources provided on the Sites, whether as a registered user or otherwise, you agree to the terms of this Privacy Policy.

TAMRITZ collects two types of information: Personally identifiable information (“PII”) and non-personally identifiable information.

No person under the age of thirteen is permitted to obtain access to the Sites without the prior consent of their parent or guardian, school or program administrator, or teacher.  We require that such consent be in writing and on file with us or with the school or program enrolling children and students with the Sites.

Personally Identifiable Information

When you initially create an account we will collect your first and last name, your e-mail address, a username, and your organization/employer.  We may also collect or assign a personal identification number to be associated with your account.  If you are an school or program administrator or teacher you may be entitled to create accounts on behalf of children and students.  In such cases, we will collect the name of the child in the form of a first name, last name, nickname, and/or username; information concerning the age of the child, which may include the child’s date of birth and/or grade level; and e-mail address.  We may also collect information concerning a child or student’s parents or guardians, including such persons’ name and e-mail address.

In the event that you purchase products or services from us, during the payment process, we will collect the purchaser’s first and last name; credit card number, expiration date, and card verification value; and billing address, including street and number, city, state and zip code.  We may also collect a purchaser’s telephone number.  We do not use any of the information collected pursuant to this paragraph for any purpose other than processing payment.

When you submit a form through the “Contact Us” portion of the Sites, we collect your username, first and last name, e-mail address, and message.  We may also collect your telephone number and organization/employer.  We do not use any of the information collected pursuant to this paragraph for any purpose other than responding directly on a one-time basis to your specific inquiry and for aggregating (on a non-personally identifiable basis) the comments received through this portion of the website for internal purposes.

During the course of your, your children’s, or your student’s (each a “User”) use of the Sites we may collect other information which is necessary to track progress, such as answers to questions and quizzes and usage information.  We may collect this information through the use of software technologies such as unique identifiers or “cookies.”

Cookies are small text files that are placed on your computer in order to identify your web browser and store preferences.  We will use these cookies to personalize each users’ experience on the Sites as well as for the purposes set forth in the preceding paragraph.  Most web browsers allow a user to elect to have their computer warn them each time a cookie is sent or accessed, or to prohibit the use of cookies in general.  Please consult your web browser’s help guides to determine the method of controlling cookies in your web browser.  While users are not required to accept cookies to access the Sites, if cookies are turned off, certain portions of our products and services may not function properly.

We may also collect personally identifiable information that is posted to the Sites by you, your children or your students, including messages sent via the site by Users to other users privately or publicly.  It is our policy to periodically remind all users not to share personal information via the internet, including via any of the Sites, where appropriate, however we undertake no responsibility to provide such reminders or warnings whenever content submission is available to a user or to monitor such content for personally identifiable information.  Content which is submitted by any User may be made available to all other users of the Sites.

Non-Personally Identifiable Information

In addition to the personally identifiable information set forth above, we may collect certain other information which by itself cannot be used to identify or contact you or the users associated with your account.  This may include the collection of anonymous statistical data concerning the computer operating system and version (e.g. Windows XP, Windows 7, Mac OS X, Linux, etc.), the web browser (e.g. Internet Explorer, Firefox, Safari, etc.) and its version and capabilities, the IP address and internet service provider, and the frequency with which various portions of the Site are accessed.  This information is used to help us to understand who is using, and to improve, market and develop, the Sites.  We, or a third party contractor on our behalf, may collect non-personally identifying information through the use of software technologies such as unique identifiers or cookies.

Upon receipt of a verified request to alter or remove PII, we will make all reasonable efforts to alter or remove such PII from the databases we actively use and from other readily searchable media.  It may not be technologically possible, however, to remove each and every recorded instance of such information.  We create back-up of our databases and systems to protect information from inadvertent loss, so a copy of your information may exist in a non-erasable form that may be difficult or impossible for us to locate.
